Superhero We 3-DAY Inclusive Arts Camp
This March holidays, join ground-up inclusive arts movement Superhero Me in an exciting arts festival at the Enabling Village! Themed “WILD CHILD”, we inspire to empower children of all abilities to realise their potential and create opportunities for them to socialise through facilitated art experiences
A highlight of the Festival, the SUPERHERO WE 3-day inclusive arts camp brings together 30 children with and without disabilities over three days to work together with those of different abilities. They include children from Superhero Me’s partner SPED schools, with limited slots for the public to sign up. It is facilitated by Superhero Me captains trained in the inclusive arts approach.
Dates: 12, 13, 14 Mar (Mon – Wed) 2018
Time: 10am – 1pm, snacks provided.
Cost for 3 days: $50 ; This is a drop-off programme, but parents are welcome to sit in our space and relax.
Recommended age: 6 – 10 years old
CAMP LEARNING OBJECTIVES ON INCLUSION:
Day 01: UNDERSTANDING OUR DIFFERENCES
Children of different abilities learn about ways they can be different; outside differences (appearance) and inside differences (likes, dislikes, strengths and weaknesses.) The programmes aim to Inspire children to embrace their differences and that it is okay to be different.
Day 02: EMPATHY
Children learn what is empathy and how to practise empathy for people who are different.
Day 03: RESILIENCE
